Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ’s Propane Vending Machine-Token

How safe are the tokens?

Tokens are considered a form of currency and are made to specific diameters, weights, thickness’ and surface textures in order to become specific to a particular use.  There can be thousands of different types of tokens but a custom token is recommended to insure the highest degree of security. Token manufactures are very careful to register tokens by company to make counterfeit tokens very difficult to get.

How do I know someone has placed an exchange tank in the machine?

The token model has no tank sensors, so it is recommended that the units be placed where an attendant can monitor the use of the system. Directing a security camera on the machine is also a good way to monitor the process and verify the tank has been placed inside the machine.

What makes the machine rotate?

The force of pulling the door open rotates the carriers and places the next full cylinder in a position to be removed.  No other source of power is needed to rotate the product and operate the machine making our machine fully mechanical with very little maintenance necessary.

What keeps someone from taking more than one tank?

The inner door has offset openings which are staggered to the three levels of product. This lets only one tank to be removed at a time and keeps the others blocked off so they can’t be removed.

Where do I place my empty tank?

Empties are put back in the position where the full tank was removed.

How do I get the empties out and refill the machine?

The inner product access door can be opened to get to the tank inside. Once open, a handle over the top of the carriers is ratcheted in and out to rotate the carriers inside the machine. Once the machine has been refilled, push the carrier advancing handle inside, then close and lock the inner product access door.  Closing the outer door prepares the machine for the next person.

How do I know how many full tanks are in the machine?

When setting the machine, only give the store clerk the number of tokens equal to the number of tanks inside the machine, in this case, 24.  At any time a quick count of the tokens tells you how many full tanks are available for sale.

What are the dimensions and capacity of this machine?

The machine is approximately 700 lbs and has a capacity for 24 -20lb cylinders.   The machine footprint is 70”h x 72”w x 36”d.

What happens if something breaks?

Vidir has over 600 service technicians who can respond to the needs of the situation.  It is common that many issues can be handled over the phone once we’ve talked to the customer on site.  In the case where that is not enough, we dispatch the closest qualified technician to the site and make the necessary repairs.

Where can I buy these units?

The units can be directly purchased from the factory.  Vidir has been in the business of selling material handling products since 1987 and has thousands of machines in service world wide.  Call our sales department at 866-898-4347 and a representative will be happy to answer any additional questions and take your order.
